Signalen består av 7 sekunder långa ljudstötar med 14 sekunders tystnad emellan under två minuter. Idag testas signalen - om du i andra fall hör den ska du gå inomhus, lyssna på radion och stänga dörrar, fönster och ventilation. Idag följs meddelandet av signalen Faran över, en enda lång ljudsignal på 30 sekunder.
