Boil the water in Hallstahammar
Coliform bacteria have been detected in the drinking water supply for the Hallstahammar urban area. As a precaution, the water must be boiled before being used for drinking, cooking or brushing teeth.

Low levels of coliform bacteria were detected during sampling of the drinking water. Mälarenergi is currently investigating how the bacteria entered the drinking water.
The boil-water advisory applies to the part of the municipality located north of the E18.
Coliform bacteria do not cause illness, but indicate that something in the water supply is not working as it should. Drinking water should be boiled before drinking or using it for cooking. The water can be used as normal for showering, washing up, laundry and flushing the toilet.
Three consecutive approved test results are required to lift the boil-water advisory. This will take approximately one week.
