The Government has decided to extend internal border controls with effect from 12 November for a period of six months. The police will decide where and how the checks are carried out.
The controls are still considered necessary in view of the serious security situation resulting from the war in Ukraine.
The controls involve the police ensuring that people entering Sweden are entitled to stay in the country and that they hold valid identity and travel documents.
