Major urban areas such as Paris/Île-de-France, Lyon and Marseille are particularly affected by the protests. According to the Swedish Embassy in France, clashes between demonstrators and police, burning barricades and traffic disruptions may occur.
National days of protest are planned across France on 24 October 2026 and 31 October 2026, and strikes may also take place. It is currently unclear how extensive the disruptions will be.
