The Swedish weather agency SMHI has issued an orange level warning for snow combined with strong winds along the southern coast of Norrland from Thursday, 1 January. A lower, yellow level, warning is in effect for Northeastern Svealand and Southern Jämtland. The weather may cause traffic disruptions as well as power cuts and disturbances to communication services.
After the storm Johannes, the electricity grid is being restored. Keep your distance from power lines on the ground. Do not enter storm-damaged forests.
