The Embassy of Sweden on the earthquake on Crete
A powerful earthquake struck the Greek island of Crete on Monday morning. Swedish citizens in the area are requested to follow the instructions of local authorities and to keep themselves updated about the course of events.
The epicentre of the earthquake was south of Heraklion, and according to the Embassy of Sweden it has caused some structural damage. There continue to be significant aftershocks on the island.
