Weather warning: Rising sea levels in Skåne and Halland
The Swedish weather agency SMHI has issued a weather warning (orange, the second most severe) for southern Halland and north-west Skåne.
The water level along the coast between Öresund and Halmstad is expected to rise during the night towards Christmas Day. There is a risk of extensive flooding on roads and railways and damage to buildings and other infrastructure near the coast.
