Orange warning for wind and snow on Gotland
SMHI has issued a warning for wind in combination with snow for northern Gotland. The warning is valid until 21.00 on Monday 15 January.
A low pressure with an associated snowfall area will pass over Gotland during the first half of Monday. Heavy snowfall is expected and amounts of 10 to more than 20 cm are expected. In combination with fresh winds, there is also a risk of drifting.
How might this affect me?
- Very limited access to roads, especially in open countryside, which have not been cleared of snow or due to traffic accidents.
- Bus, train and air traffic delays and cancellations.
- Likely loss of electricity in areas with overhead power lines, also affecting mobile telecommunications networks.
