Warning for wind and snowfall on the Kalfjället mountain range
🔶 SMHI has issued an orange warning for wind and snowfall in the mountains on Thursday and strongly advises against travelling in the area. This applies to mountain areas in northern Dalarna, Lapland and Jämtland County.
Gusty winds and heavy snow showers are expected. The warning is valid from early night to evening on 1 February.
How can this affect me?
- No hiking is recommended in mountainous areas.
- Rescue efforts in mountain environment can be risky and may take a long time.
- Very difficult to move and set up or anchor tents.
- Very difficult to orientate due to severely reduced visibility.
- High risk of frostbite.
