The SE-Alert warning system is being tested

On Monday 7 September, Sweden’s new emergency alert system, SE-Alert, was tested in Stockholm and Gotland counties. The assessment is that the test went well for the most part and that the system functioned effectively. The fault that meant Telia’s subscribers were largely not reached by the test is now said to have been rectified.

Emergency warning

Important public announcement ("Viktigt meddelande till allmänheten" or "VMA") alert the Swedish public in case of accidents, critical incidents, or disruptions to important services.

How to help others

There are several ways to help others in a crisis. Strengthen your home preparedness, learn first-aid, get involved in a volunteer organisation and talk to your neighbours.

Internet and telephone outages

In the case of long-term internet or telephone outages, information from the responsible authorities will be available through other channels than when things are working. This is how authorities will inform you in such circumstances.
