The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a red warning for snowfall and wind in parts of Gävleborg County from Thursday afternoon. The Swedish Transport Administration urges the public in that area not to travel on the roads at all. There are also orange and yellow weather warnings issued in large parts of the country. The first warning will take effect at 2:00 a.m. on 1 January.
After the storm Johannes, the electricity grid is being restored. Keep your distance from power lines on the ground. Do not enter storm-damaged forests.
