Local information

Too little rain during the spring, combined with a deficit from the winter, has led to low groundwater levels in large parts of Sweden. SMHI and SGU have issued water shortage warnings in several counties due to low groundwater levels or low flows in watercourses.

The situation regarding the risk of water shortages may vary locally.
For information about the water situation where you are, contact your local municipality. Be aware of any watering restrictions and follow the municipality's instructions!

Gotland County

A watering ban is in effect throughout Gotland until further notice. This means that drinking water may only be used for:

  • Personal hygiene

  • Cooking and drinking

  • Washing and dishwashing
