Heavy rainfall in Västernorrland County

On Sunday, 7 September 2025, Västernorrland was hit hard by heavy rain. The downpour caused train derailments and around 40 roads had to be closed. Around 70-80 millimetres of rain fell over the county, with the municipalities of Härnösand, Kramfors, Sollefteå and Örnsköldsvik receiving the most. One person died in a car accident where a road had been washed away.
