The conflict in the Middle East
Iran
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against all travel to Iran.
Swedish citizens in Iran should exercise extreme caution and avoid staying in the vicinity of places that may be of political, military or military-industrial significance. Minimise outdoor activities.
The Swedish Embassy in Tehran is closed to visitors until Saturday 28 June.
You can call the Foreign Ministry's emergency service on +46 8 405 50 05. Or send an email to: ud-kc-resefragor@gov.se or ambassaden.teheran@gov.se.
If you wish to leave Iran
Iran's airspace is closed, as is Tehran's international airport. However, according to the Iranian authorities, all border crossings are open and there are no restrictions on travel within the country or on leaving the country. To leave Iran, you need a valid passport and, in some cases, a visa to enter a neighbouring country. The embassy recommends that Swedish citizens leave Iran via Turkey or Armenia, as these countries do not require visas for Swedish citizens.

It is possible to leave Israel via the land borders with Jordan and Egypt. The border crossings are open according to their regular schedules.
