Abolished qualifying day of sickness due to corona virus
Today, the government has presented a proposal for an extra amending budget due to the ongoing virus outbreak. One of the proposals is that the qualifying day of sickness is abolished. For one who becomes ill, this means that the state will pay out sick pay already from the first day of absence due to the illness.
The new proposal goes into effect from today, 11 March 2020. The measures are considered to be able to reduce the spreading of the virus and thus the burden on the healthcare system according to the government.
