Negative Covid-19 test result required for entry into Sweden
As of Saturday 6 February, foreign nationals will need to present a negative Covid-19 test result in order to travel into Sweden.
The test result must be no older than 48 hours and must be able to be presented on arrival. The requirement is being introduced to reduce the risk of spreading different virus variants and applies to everyone over the age of 18, regardless of where they are travelling from.
The Swedish Government's decision entails an extension of the previous ban on entry from Denmark, Norway, the UK and so-called third countries, and the imposition of a new ban on entry from other countries.
To ensure that the new rules do not result in more restrictions than intended, there are a number of exemptions. The complete list of these can be found on the Government's website.
