The vaccine requires only one dose and fulfils the EU requirements for safety, efficacy, quality and manufacture. The first deliveries to Sweden are expected from April.

"This will be the first vaccine to be given in one dose, which will facilitate vaccination", says Charlotta Bergquist, vaccine coordinator at the Swedish Medical Products Agency (Läkemedelsverket). When this vaccine begins to be distributed, we will have more chance of conducting the vaccination according to schedule.

The clinical trials have shown approximately 67 percent effective protection against becoming ill from Covid-19.
