Prohibition of public gatherings with more than 50 people

From Sunday, March 29, public gatherings and public events may have a maximum of 50 participants. The decision was made by the government on Friday (March 27).

The police can cancel or dissolve a public gathering or public event with more than 50 participants. Anyone who organizes an event that violates the ban can be sentenced to a fine or imprisonment for a maximum of six months.

Before, a restriction was applied to 500 people at public gatherings, but this is now changed following a request from the Public Health Authority of Sweden. The reason is to limit the spread of the coronavirus disease covid-19.
