The Swedish Security Service: Unchanged terror threat level in Sweden
The National Centre for Terrorist Threat Assessment (NCT) ascertains that the total terrorist threat level in Sweden remains at level three on a five-point scale. The decision is based on NCT's annual assessment for 2019 which is being presented today. Islamic terrorism remains the main threat, according to NCT.
The scale for terrorist threats has five levels in Sweden: no identified threat (1), low threat (2), elevated threat (3), high threat (4) and very high threat (5).
NCT is a working group consisting of personnel from the National Defence Radio Establishment (FRA), the Military Intelligence and Security Directorate (MUST) and the Swedish Security Service.
