Five new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Sweden

On Thursday, five more cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 were confirmed in several regions in Sweden.

The Public Health Agency of Sweden states that four people with COVID-19 are now being cared for in the Västra Götaland region. One person in the Uppsala region and another person in the Stockholm region are also being cared for in connection with the coronavirus disease.

"We have expected to see new cases of the disease in Sweden. So far, all cases of COVID-19 have been linked to travellers, directly or indirectly through close contact with an infected person, and we are currently not witnessing any spread of the infection in the community," says the Public Health Agency.

In total, Sweden has so far had seven cases of covid-19 detected.
