Young people will be offered the Covid 19 vaccine in August

The Public Health Authority has stated that young people born in 2005 or before will be offered the Covid 19 vaccine from week 32 (August 9th) onwards.

Vaccinations are scheduled to begin from the second week of August onwards. This also applies to children as young as 12 with specific risks of being seriously affected by Covid 19.
The vaccine which will be offered is the Pfizer/Biontech mRNA vaccine, which is approved for people aged 12 and above.
The objective is primarily to protect adolescents themselves against the disease, but also to further reduce the spread of infection in the community.
