Extended warning against non-essential travel to all countries outside the EU/EEA/Schengen area and the UK

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs (Utrikesdepartementet, UD) has extended the warning against non-essential travel to all countries outside the EU/EEA/Schengen area and the UK. The travel warning will apply until 31 May 2021.

The travel warning is extended due to the spread of the coronavirus and is valid until 31 May 2021. Non-essential travel means visiting and tourist travel.

From 31 March, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also decided to remove the special warning that applies to travel to Norway and the UK. This is because it is no longer more unsafe there than elsewhere in the immediate area.
