Changes related to entry into Sweden

The government has today presented a number of changes concerning entry into Sweden. The entry ban is extended for travel from outside the EU. The requirement for a negative covid test for travellers from the Nordic countries is removed.

The travel ban to Sweden for travel from countries outside the EU and the EEA is extended until 31 August. The requirement for a negative covid test for those travelling to Sweden from other countries within the EU and the EEA is extended until 30 June. But from 31 May, the requirement for travellers from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland to show a negative covid test will be removed.

Recommendations regarding testing and self-isolation

From 1 June, persons who have travelled within the EU/EEA, the Schengen area, the UK and certain other countries are exempted from the recommendation to test themselves and self-isolate when entering Sweden.

For travellers from all other countries, the recommendation remains for people entering Sweden to test themselves and self-isolate for a week after arrival, even if they have no symptoms.

Fully vaccinated persons without any symptoms are exempted from the recommendation regardless of where they have been before arrival to Sweden.
