The Foreign Ministry advises against travel to Turkey's immediate area towards Syria and Iraq

Due to changes in the security situation, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Utrikesdepartementet or UD) has decided to change its travel advisories to the Turkish border regions to Syria and Iraq. The decision means that the advisory regarding Diyarbakir city is lifted.

The remaining travel advisory remains  the same as before. That is, because of the regional security sitation, the Swedish MInistry of Foreign Affairs advises against all travel to the areas within 10 kilometres from the Iraqi and Syrian borders. Also, an advisory is in effect against all non-essential travel  to the border provinces Hatay, Kilis, Sirnak, and Hakkari.
