Orange warning for snow and wind in Skåne, Blekinge and Kalmar county
🔶 On Wednesday occational snowfall in combination with wind can cause problems in traffic from northeastern Skåne over Blekinge to southern Kalmar county. The warning applies from midnight the night to 3 January.
There will be large amounts of snow, especially over parts of Skåne and Blekinge. Until Thursday night, 10-25 cm of snow is expected, locally there may be even greater amounts.
At the same time, the wind increases and there are occasional fresh, or locally very strong, gusts of wind. The wind is mainly expected in coastal areas and at the beginning of the warning period.
How can this affect me?
- Very limited accessibility on roads, especially in open landscapes, that, for example, has not been cleared of snow or due to traffic accidents.
- Delays in bus-, train- and air traffic as well as canceled departures.
- Likely power outage in areas with overground power lines, which also affects mobile networks for telecommunications.
