Region Gotland: Reduce use of municipal water
Region Gotland urges households and businesses connected to the municipal water network to quickly cut back on water consumption, otherwise the drinking water may run out by the weekend.
Use tap water only for:
- Food
- Drinks
- Hygiene
Do not hoard tap water. This will cause supplies to run out even faster.
How did this situation arise?
More water is currently being consumed than Region Gotland can produce. This is because several factors have created an imbalance in the system. Among other things, cleaning the reservoirs has required a lot of water.
The areas at risk of running out of water are: Visby, Lummelunda, Brissund, Själsö, Väskinde, Vibble, Västerhejde, Tofta and Västergarn.
