Orange warning for high water discharge

🔶 SMHI has issued an orange warning for high water discharge in upper Rönne å, River Hörbyån from Hörby to the outlet of Lake Ringsjön.

Update on 25 January, 14.45:

Do not go near the water

For safety reasons, Hörby municipality urges the public not to go near lakes and other water. There may be risks of floods and slides.

Property owners are advised to stay updated about the situation and take measures to protect their property.

Limit water discharge

The sewage pipes in Hörby municipality and Fogdarp are overloaded. Water producer Mittskånevatten is asking property owners with connections to municipal sewers to limit the amount of water flushed down the drain.

SMHI has issued an orange warning for high water discharge in upper Rönne å, River Hörbyån from Hörby to the outlet of Lake Ringsjön.

The warning applies from 24 January at 00:00 to 25 January at 23:59. Melting snow and rain on saturated ground causes high flows and rising water levels.

How can this affect me?

  • Flooded areas by the river and the lake may affect buildings and roads.
  • Very fast flowing water in rivers and smaller watercourses.
  • Flows that occur every 25th to 50th year on average.
