Schools in Borlänge will open as usual tomorrow

Borlänge Municipality will open all schools as usual tomorrow, Thursday. This is because the police have assessed that there is no longer any ongoing threat.

On Wednesday, Borlänge Municipality kept a number of nurseries and schools closed. The decision was a precautionary measure following threats of possible violence.

The police launched a preliminary investigation into serious unlawful threats against a group, but at around 1 pm on Wednesday it was announced that there was no longer any threat.

“We fully understand that the situation has affected many people. Our focus has always been on prioritising safety and acting with caution based on the information available,” says Jörgen Olsson, Chief Executive of Borlänge, on the municipality’s website.
