Several schools in Borlänge closed following threats

Borlänge Municipality is keeping a number of nurseries and schools closed on Wednesday. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure following a potential threat of violence.

The municipality has chosen to act to ensure a safe environment for pupils and staff. The decision is based on the information currently available to the municipality.

– We have chosen to act proactively. Our focus is on guaranteeing a safe environment for our pupils and staff, and whilst we await clarification of the situation, we are therefore keeping selected schools closed,” says Municipal Director Jörgen Olsson on the municipality’s website.

The police have launched a preliminary investigation into a serious unlawful threat against a group. No one has been arrested and it is too early to say whether there is any substance to the threat or not.
