Warning for extremely high temperatures

The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, SMHI, has issued a class 2 warning for extremely high temperatures in parts of eastern Svealand. The daily maximum temperature is expected to reach up to 30 degrees up to and including Wednesday.

Class 2 is the highest of the warning classes with regard to temperature. It is used when the maximum temperature of the day is expected to reach up to 30 degrees or more for at least five days. Alternatively, 33 degrees three days in a row.
Long-term high heat means an increased strain on the body which can result in problems for the elderly and those who are ill.
